Focusing on Direction

thoroughbred racing"Determined", 16"x20", oil on canvas

Related to my previous post last Thursday, these "times" (our new hesitant description) have afforded artists opportunities to push the envelope and pursue fresh direction. In this new painting, I attempted to suggest and focus. Loose brushwork suggests, detail for emphasis.

At the risk of sounding corny (women who paint horses), I felt this painting. Maybe my next canvas will be of a fiery chariot of dynamic steeds being driven across the sky by the Greek god Helios.

Or not.

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading. - Lao Tzu

More snow? I think you're having a major blizzard Andrea. It's cold here too. I know, I know, it's Florida but we've had several major freezes this winter and everything in my yard is dead. Including 25 ft. Queen Palm.

Always good to hear from you.

Flaring nostrils- I feel the steam.
There's so much excitement in this painting Sharon.
That suggested background puts the emphasis on " getting out the way " of these neck and neck beasts of gorgeousness, and detail just enough to indicate the artist is familiar enough with the subject to paint in the dark.

As always, you move me.
