Here's a new one for the Blog Store:
I'm pleased with the colors in this piece. Using and applying split complementaries always creates a strong palette.

I love the intriguing quote. It made me look back at your painting to see why you chose that particular one. Love the painting too. To quote a good friend, "I'm in awe."
You've made the sun and it's highlights feel like they radiate right through this painting.
Only in the hands of someone who even knows what split compliments are , could you paint what you did.
I dont know how you do it.
I'll keep staring- maybe it will rub off!
Nancy & Bonnie: Thanks to you both. A good color wheel will easily map out split complimentaries beginning with any dominant color. I've half-heartedly played with these before, but now I highly recommend it's study. I'm amazed at the intensity, brilliance and cohesiveness produced by it's application. Give it a try!
You're right... the colors of this painting are so appealing. Of course all of your paintings are great, but this one draws you in because of your color plan!
I loved it!
