Off and Running

So far it's been a great start to 2008. Here's what happening and it's only January 15th.

I applied to the Art Business News "Emerging Artist" competition. Didn't win - poop. Here's the winner, in the ABN artistic style: Kristy Goggio. I have to question if she's "emerging", seems she's already arrived.

I also applied to the Florida Division of Cultural Affair's "2008 Professional Development Workshop". I was accepted! So I'm off to St. Pete on February 2nd. It's funded by National Endowment for the Arts.

Sold an original oil! "Oklahoma", my piece depicting the backside of Oklahoma Training Track in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Crossing the t's and dotting the i's on two new galleries! One is in Red Bank, New Jersey close to Monmouth Park and the other in West Palm Beach, Florida. More details when it's all finalized.

Hi Sharon,
Your stunning work came my way via Sue Smith's great blog and your wonderful interview with her. I'm awed by the majesty and power of your work and the passion of your words and committment to your art.
Your horses are really magnificent- I can feel them!

Thanks for the kind comment Bonnie. I enjoy your blog and of course, as a fellow cat lover, the fun pics. Your paintings are a rarity of energetic brush work, color and movement.
